Ability Links is a new approach to assisting people with disability to live the lives they want to live within their local communities. Ability Links is also about supporting those local communities to be welcoming and inclusive for people with disability.
Mid Coast Communities delivers Ability Links NSW on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
We are part of the North West Alliance delivering Ability Links across the Mid North Coast, Far North Coast, New England, Far West, Central West and Riverina/Murray regions of NSW. Ability Links NSW is funded by the NSW Government Department of Family and Community Services: Ageing, Disability and Home Care.
What does a Linker do?
People with disability, their families or carers can contact a Linker in their local area to help them plan for the future, access community resources and opportunities and work towards goals they have to live the life they want to live.
Community groups, individuals, businesses etc can contact a Linker to access information about Ability Links and Disability. Linkers can support community groups to be welcoming and inclusive for people with disability, who make up 20% of the population of our communities.
